The Black Keys are a rock group from Akron, Ohio. The duo consists of Dan Auerbach on vocals and guitar and Patrick Carney on drums. Auerbach and Carney, friends since childhood, formed the band in 2001 after dropping out of college. The Black Keys released their debut album, The Big Come Up in 2002, building a small, underground fan base. Their third album, Rubber Factory, was critically acclaimed and greatly boosted the band’s popularity. The Black Keys didn’t reach mainstream popularity until the release of their 2010 album, Brothers. They released their 8th album, Turn Blue, in 2014, which was their first number one record in the US.
