In the 2000 season Corey Dillon had 1,435
rushing yards in one season, setting a franchise
record. Justin Smith, Chad Johnson, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh were drafted, in 2001. At the
end of the 2002 season Marvin Lewis took over
the head coach from Dick LeBeau. 2002 was the
worst season for the Bengals in their history. In
2003 the Bengals drafted Carson Palmer, who
won the Heisman Trophy. In 2004 Rudi Johnson
became the starting running back fro the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2009 wide receiver Chris Henry died
from an injury that occurred off the field. Vikki
Zimmer, wife of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer died.
