Paul Brown Stadium

Paul Brown stadium has a seating capacity of 65,535 people. The bengals started playing at this
stadium in 2000. The field used to be Kentucky Bluegrass. While the stadium had the Kentucky
Bluegrass the stadium was ranked 3rd worst in the league. They later changed the stadium to
have a turf field. The turf is brand is FeildTurf. FeildTurf is very close to actual grass to the poin
t of looking, and feeling like real grass. This greatly reduced maintenance cost. The field markings
are sewn into the grass, and thus eliminated the need to repaint the field. The turf started being
used at Paul Brown stadium for the 2004 season. The first college Football game played here was
The Cincinnati Bearcats vs. The Ohio State Buckeyes. There are two LED video screens at each
endzone. These were installed in 2000. This stadium has earned the nickname “The Jungle” due to
two reasons. The first being that a jungle is the native home for a bengal tiger. The second being a
reference to the Guns N’ Roses song “Welcome to the Jungle”.
