Senior Year

Senior year, Butler became the glue guy and the leader of the Golden Eagles throughout the season. The players above him were no longer holding him back and he was the top dog on the team. He proceeded to average 15.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while continuing his iron man role and playing 34.6 minutes per of game. He received all Big-East Honors that year. That year Marquette had an average season, but in an unpredictable 2011 NCAA tournament, the Eagles (as an 11 seed) upset #6 Xavier in the first round and #3 Syracuse to reach the Sweet 16.  Despite a loss to North Carolina, Butler ended his collegiate career on a high note.
