The Rivalry

The Ohio State Michigan rivalry was spawned because of the Toledo war which pitted the two states against each other. The first meeting of the two football teams took place in 1897 but it wasn't until 1912 the Ohio State was able to draw blood and defeat there bitter rivals. As of now, Michigan leads the series 58 wins to Ohio State's 46. However, The Buckeyes have dominated the last decade and Urban Meyer is poised to narrow that lead. The rivalry is so intense that in 2013 a brawl broke out in Ann Arbor.
