Mike Harrington

Mike Harrington was a former Dynamix employee, a company most known for theRed Baron flight simulator, before moving on to work for Microsoft on the Windows operating system, something that Gabe Newell also did. Harrington left Microsoft in 1996 and co-founded Valve with Gabe Newell. Both co-founders proceeded to privately finance Valve until Half-Life was finished and released. The game proceeded to earn more than 50 Game of the Year titles and the title of "Best PC Game of All Time" from PC Gamer magazine. On January of 2000, Harrington left Valve in order to take an extended vacation with his wife. In 2006, he co-founded Picnik, a photo editing software, with Darrin Massena. Picnik was acquired by Google in 2010, and the service was shut down in favor of turning efforts toward Google+. In March 2011, Harrington and Massena both left Google and recently, in October 2014, founded another software company by the name of Catnip Labs.
