Early Life

-Born June 8th 1977 in Atlanta Georgia

-Parents divorced when he was the age of three

-Raised by his mother on the south-side of Chicago

-Spent summers with his dad

-mother was an english professor

-dad was an award winning photographer and church counselor  

-Names: Donda West and Ray West

-West graduated from Polaris High School

-Completed one year of art school at Chicago State university

-Moved to New York in 2001 to pursue a full time music career

-Jay Z hired him to produce his album The Blue Print

-West goes on to produce for other stars such as Beyonce and Ludacris

-Signed a deal with Roc-a-fella records in 2002 (Jay-z’s label)

-The college Dropout was eventually issued in 2004

-Kanye founded the record label GOOD MUSIC

-Had benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims

-Third studio album was released in 2007 Graduation

-In 2009 West’s most controversial incident happened at the MTV Video Music Awards, where he crashed the stage as Taylor Swift was receiving her award
