What is 3-MGA?
3-MGA is short for 3-Methylglutaconic aciduria type 3. 3-MGA is a genetic disorder, Its one of the most rare diseases out there. Happens to 1 in every 10,000 children. Also Classified as an organic acid condition that breaks down amino acids and continues to harm those who have it.
3-Methylglutaconic aciduria describes five disorders, each characterized by a different cause, symptoms,and treatments. The types are I, II, IV, and, V. The carrier frequently for the mutation in the OPA3 gene in about 1/10 Iraqi-Jews [ Anikster, Kleta, Shaag, Gahl, & Elpeleg, 2001].
