The Apollo 8 mission was one of the first to orbit around the moon. The astronauts aboard, Frank Borman, William A. Anders, and James A. Lovell Jr, were the first to see the back side of the moon. They performed multiple orbits of the moon preparing good points for a lunar landing and where the landing crew would go. They sent video messages back to earth six times which were broadcast live to all continents except Antarctica. There were no mechanical or technical failures on this mission and all broadcasts were of excellent quality.
