One of Duke’s biggest rivals is the North Carolina Tar Heels. This rivalry is not only the greatest rivalry in college basketball but maybe in all of sports. The “Tobacco Road” rivalry is a tradition like no other. Every year Duke and UNC play twice--once in Cameron Indoor Stadium and once in the Dean dome. These two campuses are less than twelve miles away from each other, and the hatred runs deep. The two teams have had 242 meetings in total. Dukes overall record in the series is 108-134. While this may seem like a fairly large difference, in the Coach K era, Duke is 43-39. This game is filled with passion, tenacious play, and extreme pride, and the games often come down to the wire and are won or loss on a buzzer beater.
